Forza Horizon - February Jalopnik Car Pack Review

Credit for this review goes to our Forza Horizon petrol head Wizzyfox. Wizzy gave us his hands on impression of the lastets car pack to hit Forza Horizon.

If your preference is to burn the rubber to the rims, dish up the dirt, or cruise the highways, The Jalopnik Car Pack has something for everyone!
Six cars to set you apart from the rest, or will they end up in the scrapyard?

Read on....

2013 Subaru BRZ - C Class, RWD
A good all round car, a little sluggish off the Start line, but a smooth ride there on in.
Very competitive in 'C Class'. Performs especially well on Asphalt, pretty good on the Dirt but watch the over-steer!
Overall good traction and good acceleration. A nice drive, just what you would expect from a Suburu.
AG Rating 8/10

'91 Ferrari 512 TR – A Class, RWD
Just what you would expect from a Ferrari, rapid speed, good handling and looks good too!
Definitely more competitive on the Asphalt, not so good on the Dirt.
Performs better in Street or Point to Point races where you can take advantage of the speed the 512 TR offers.
Overall I would say this is one of the better Ferrari's on Horizon. Worth tinkering with the upgrade options too.
AG Rating 7/10

2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser – D Class, AWD
My favourite of the Horizon'February Jalopnik car pack'
Good handling and a decent top speed combined with excellent braking, it has the ingredients to win you many races.
Very competitive on all surfaces and race types. My preference were Street Races where the FJ Cruiser came into its own.
Upgraded to 'A Class' and I was even more impressed, very quick and responsive, with superb handling.
AG Rating 9/10

'70 Nissan Datsun 510 – E Class, RWD
Decent 'E Class' motor. With good Acceleration, braking and reasonable traction, the Datsun 510 will keep you competitive on any surface.
Much better than the Mazda RX-3 in it's class.
When upgraded to 'C Class' the car felt a little under powered, and proved so on the track.
Overall worth persevering in 'E or D Class' with this 70's classic.
AG Rating 7/10

'73 Mazda RX-3 – E Class, RWD
My least favourite of the 'February Jalopnik car pack'
Its sounds as if there are a swarm of bees under the bonnet, the handling is poor and overall it feels a chore to drive!
On the plus side, a 'C Class' upgrade provided slightly better results, with a decent speed and improved braking, but still hard work to achieve a decent result!!
For the 'Tinkers' out there i'm sure they could tinker with the upgrades to find a winning solution.
AG Rating 3/10

1966 Ford Country Squire – D Class, RWD
A long beast, The Squire at first feels a little awkward, but persevere with this 60's gem as it has it's own qualities.
Very useful in Dirt and Asphalt Circuit races, when the going gets tough the Squire holds it's own, trying knocking her off the racing line at your peril, strong as an ox she is!
With good top speed and good traction you can't go wrong with this beauty.
I added a cheeky 'A' Class upgrade and was pleasantly surprised at the performance racing against more illustrious models.
AG Rating 8/10

Overall the Horizon 'February Jalopnik car pack' is worthy of 400ms.
Some good options, and with a little tweaking here and there you will find a car which will propel you up those leader-boards.
