As another season goes by, as is tradition on AG, we have the seasonal League Cup alongside the PFC League. Over the past 2 seasons @okid uko AbsoluteGaming have held a hard grip on the cup but was it time for someone to take over the mantle?
Beginning in Round one draw FC Juventarse drew the Cup Champions, a repeat of the Champions Trophy fixture which took place earlier in the season, Juventarse won that, and made no mistake in Round one either shaving a 4-3 agg win, @aaronc333 and @marcusjonesy pleased to avoid a potential banna skin.
There opponents would be Thunder Ducks or @emotionalworm Funhouse. Thunder Ducks boosted Golden boot from season one @shankly 93 in there side as @DannyCTID was in Croatia, sunning it up without the rest of the Ducks without the permission of his gaffa @DanLH16 who was quick to add “We don’t need Danny.” And he was right, Shanks collecting 6 goals as the Thunder struck and the Ducks won 6-1 on agg.
On the other side of the draw, NeXuS faced last seasons finalists, Forza DC. Co Managers @TheAshcohen09 and @AGLewiSpur were looking to put a rough start in the league behind them but sadly for them @J4y F1nn0 and @PunchedQuasar sending Forza through in a narrow 3-2 win to play either…..
Milan or BFL Lads. The Lads had also had a tough start and in what seems an almost identical situation as NeXuS @obigasho took his side through after 8-2 win, which saw a 2nd leg win of 6-0 after BFL recorded a 2-2 draw and fancied there chances. But it wasn’t meant to be and Milan cruised through in the end.
Onto the Semi Final and much talked about match up of Thunder Ducks and FC Juventarse was marred with lag for both teams, as they battled the elements it was obvously no drama for DannyCTID who starred scoring 5 goals over the 2 games. A rare goal for Puma Sparks saw him get his first ever goal for the Ducks as 2 3-0 wins booked a place at Wembley for the Thunder.
Facing Thunder Ducks was the prize then for either Forza or Milan who battled it out on a warm Sunday Summers night. Forza lead after the first leg accumalating a 4-1 lead but the Milan still fancied there chances to get into the final. It wasn’t meant to be though as Milan and Forza produced a 2-2 draw and Forza booked there tickets to face the Ducks at Wembley.
So here we are, and for the first time, no AbsoluteGaming at the League Cup final, but a returning act is Forza DC, was it to be there year? Not if DannyCTID had anything to say about it. The Striker from Stockport notched up a hattrick at Wembley not since Scott Sinclair have we seen a performance like that at the home of football. He rounded of the rout as Shankly nipped in to grab the third before adding a forth late on.
Thunder Ducks are the Champions and being a massive fan of the Thunder I’ve tried to be a bias as possible. :shifty:
