Charlie Murder is a One to Four Player Beat em Up Arcade title. It's a battle of the bands, Evil Lord Mortimer is longing to defeat you!
Charlie Murder, the band fallen from grace, must fight back to regain their crown.
You play one of Five characters, Charlie Berzerker, Tommy Shamam, Rex Tank, Kelly Mesmer, or Lester Mage. You can go it alone, or with up to three other players. These can be three of your buddies on Xbox live, which gives the game a completely different direction.
As you navigate your way through the game, you encounter various 'bodies' who want to Obliterate you!!
As you beat the Baddies up, by blowing them up, stabbing, kicking or punching or you can even use the Head of one of your victims as a missile to take out one of his comrades! Impressive stuff!
As you progress through the levels, you will encounter several mean 'Bosses' beat these to boost your score, and gain a sense of satisfaction.
Smash objects up to reveal Money, Health and other useful items to aid you along the way. Use your money to buy objects, clothing and various items from the stores scattered about the map.
Emails, tips and other in game messages can be retrieved via your mobile phone with the flick of the 'D' pad. This is a useful tool, especially if you need a tip or two in pursuit of victory.
Overall Charlie Murder is a solid game, albeit mad at times! I found it to be a little tedious early on, with baddie after baddie with no respite, but as the game progresses it becomes quite enjoyable and certainly challenging.
The game is backed up with an excellent Death Rock soundtrack which adds to the atmosphere.
I wouldn't put Charlie Murder in the Arcade Classic category, but if you like a good 'Beat em up', get your friends round, or on Xbox live to really get the best out of this game.
