Throghout Forza Motorsport 5's life on the Xbox One, turn 10 will continue to add DLC to its marketplace in terms of cars and one of those hitting shelves this month is the IGN Car Pac. From a retro feel to something new and exciting this is an indepth pack with lots of potential so lets dig a little deeper.
1961 Maserati Tipo 61 Birdcage
Kicking off the IGN Car pack we have the very retro looking and feeling Maserati 1961 Tipo 61 Birdcage. Coming in at a cool 1, 540,000 credits on the Forza marketplace, it’s a good job the pack gives you this car for free! Great fun to drive and a challenge too, just pray the drivators around you are kind as you could be sent flying in this superlight weight car.
2013 Caterham Superlight R500
I just don’t know where to start with the Caterham. I adore this car. I didn’t before, I had never heard of it, but now I have its improved my Forza experience to no end. It looks good, it rides phenomenally, and the fun factor is just unbeatable. For me this is the best car on the game, hands down. The low ride as well makes this car something truly special and is a must for any Forza fanatic.

2013 Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG
Something a little less amazing is the AMG. It would be unfair to compare to the cars before mentioned but after being wowed with the first two listed its hard not to be let down with the Merc. Sadly it doesn’t handle very well which in turn could be an advantage to those seeking a challenge. Overall not a high point for the pack but you will rinse the opposition with the speed you can generate for its class.
1977 Ford Escort RS1800
Consistency from Turn 10 has always been its plus point and this car just oozes one of Forza 5’s main advantages. It’s the attention to detail. You’re simply blown away from the driver’s seat. Some of you may have owned this car from yester year and will probably want to pick it back up again for the memories, and I wouldn’t blame you. As a driving experience nothing different from the other cars in class, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing?
1964 Chevrolet Impala SS 409
Fans of this type of Chevi come in their droves and its hard to see why they wouldn’t in all honesty. Forza 5 does the car justice, its looks and feels are fantastic and you could go as far as to call it a digital marvel. Once again the detail is superb especially the bodywork job done by Turn 10 to tick every box. Handles beautifully and has immense raw pace which sets it apart from the field

2002 Ferrari 575M Maranello
Something that I was looking forward to was trying out the Maranello. Partly because Ferrari cars in my opinion look the best but mainly out of curiosity. The car, sadly looks rather ordinary, not Forza’s fault of course, and isn’t much to drive relative to other Ferraris on the market. Rather disappointing to be honest, especially with such an excellent Ferrari class on the market. Lack of a challenge from the car is worth noting.
2008 Lamborghini Reventón
Not cheap and not free. Costing a just a tad over a cool 1 million credits, the Reventón doesn’t surprise with its price on the market. But it does surprise on the tarmac. The pace is immense once again from the Lamborghini brand and the sheer look it gives off on the track is something worship. Great fun to drive and will rip the competition to shreds as long as you can control the raging bull.

1957 Ferrari 250 California
The 1957 California is exactly what Forza is all about, a real world driving experience. This car just ticks every box on the simulation lust that Forza is aiming to achieve. The Attention to detail is second to none and it drives like a dream. So turn the volume up, open a window to let the breeze in and drive in the Aussie outback with the top down like it’s 1957.
1969 Nissan Fairlady Z 432
Another return to the 1960’s with Nissans turn to tackle Forza 5. As with the other retro cars, great fun and begs the question, how anyone saw out of those tiny wind mirrors at the front of the car?! All in all the car is good fun to drive and competitive in it’s class, fancy a retro cheap ride, this may well be the car for you!
1984 Peugeot 205 T16
Now this is car I would hazard a guess most people would have driven if they were able to drive in the 80s. So for some of you it could be a long waited return to the tarmac with something you thought you’d never have to drive again! A regular C class drive and not much special about the car apart from is nostalgia feel. Certainly better cars available on the market, but good fun none the less
So the IGN Car Pack overall can prolong your love for Forza 5 Motorsport. Highlights such as the Reventon and the Caterham make this a must in my opinion and owners of the Season pass can pick the pack up today in the Xbox One Store.
