Bungie the creator and developer of the Halo series finally breaks away from the game that helped make the original Xbox such a success. Destiny is their brand new IP and so far things are looking good.
Several hundred years into the future and mankind had spread out across the stars. But an event called The Collapse wiped all these colonies out and just as earth was about to be destroyed an entity known only as The Traveller saved us. Earth survived but only just and our former colonies have now become refuges for hostile aliens intent on wiping out the last of humanity.
You are a guardian and your task is to wipe out these alien threats and keep earth safe.You get to choose from three races Humans, Awoken, and Exo and three classes Hunters, Warlocks, and Titans with each getting it's own skill tree which can be upgraded. Choosing your race will have little effect on your character but choosing which class that character will be has huge effect on how the game will react to you.
So far this game is looking beautiful with sprawling cities, decaying wastelands and off world planets. It is clear to see Halo's influence in the art design. Gameplay comes in a variety of different options, Story missions - - either solo or up to 3 player co-op, Strikes which involve wiping out an entire area and then defeating a boss at the end for a cash reward, Explor- e - either solo or up to 3 player co-op where you can search the surrounding areas taking on random jobs, Ra- -op only and are the hardest missions in the game and online multiplayer modes including variants of deathmatch, capture the flag and capture and hold. Destiny has been on my watch list ever since Bungie first announced it and from what I have seen today my anticipation is higher than ever. Are you ready to claim your destiny? I know I am.
