It was a thrilling end to the season opener at Burrowing Owl GC with only 2 shots separating the top 3 golfers.
After round 1 only three golfers had went over par Big B 1970 , TheAshCohen09 & WoodymcWoodface all struggling with the high winds. Only four shots covered the top five after all went under par, with paullowes80 & deareststorm both tied for the lead after both shooting -8.
The final round didn't see much change in the conditions. Big B 1970, TheAshCohen09 & WoodymcWoodface continued to struggle and would fill the bottom three places come the end of play. After a -5 start on the opening day Emotionalworm couldn't sustain it and shot a +4 to finish a respectable -1 in the season opener. MarcusJonesy will take some positives going into the second event, after a solid opening -4 the Welshman was only one of four not to shoot over par in the final round and he would finish -4 overall in fourth place.
Down to the business end. At the halfway point wellsa27 was only two back from the leaders. And after a joint best final round score of 68 he would lead in the clubhouse on -10. Uptop it was a ding dong battle between the Englishman paullowes80 and the man from Northern Ireland deareststorm. Lowes would finish first and lead on -12 after a fine final round -4. deareststorm went up the 17th one shot clear and many say choked from there on in after glancing up at the scoreboard. A disaster at the 18th saw Storm lose out by one shot and handed Lowes the victory.
