This week we had our first major of the Season on the AG Tour. Each event on the AG Tour is a handicapped event with the exception of the 2 majors which are played during our 11 week regular season. The course was The Links at Royal Atlantic a very scenic 18 holes along the coast. The greens were a little more difficult that normal, this being a major but the big challenge of this course was the length and the huge mishaps that awaited wayward shots. A host of players challenged but ultimately all made fatal errors and they could not put two great rounds together. All except one, IAMJOEFEEDMENOW, aka just Joe, who hadn't come within an asses roar of playing well recently. Well he rediscovered his mojo and played two tremendous rounds to finish on -17 and win the first major of the season 7 shots clear of his nearest challenger.
Here was the final Leaderboard:
Here are some of the lads before they teed it up this week:
The Tour Championship Leaderboard after 4 events has now become incredibly close with Berty on 75, IDanger IMouse on 74, Wizzfox on 72 and Burga boii on 71, and Jeffantony1988 just behind. Meanwhile in the AG Society through which we run our Tour we have a battle to make the Final Five. The top 5 players on points which are worked out weekly on the gross ( pre handicap ) scores. At this stage Berty has a good lead but the final qualifying positions are all still up for grabs.
On now to our representatives on the TGC Tour and big congratulations to Wizzfox. He may be one of the whipping boys in League 1 but he knows how to whip a ball around the golf course. He produced a stunning -42 ( including a 14 birdie blitz 58 ) to finish 9th on CC-E and by far the best of our lads on CC-Am Tours. paullowes80 had a creditable -30 for 50th on CC-F. However it was really bad news for BobBank and IDanger IMouse whose string of poor performances finally sent both of them through the CC-D trap door and into C-E as they accumulated enough demotion points for relegation.
That now leaves only four on the CC-Pro tour and Red Rhinoceros was holidaying so did not compete last week. wellsa27 -24 for 82nd and Berty44 -23 for 90th had decent outings, in the latter's case another demotion point was eliminated. For Burga boii his -13 was 114th and he remains strike free. Here are the latest World Rankings of our players:
Hit them long and straight lads !
