Mighty No. 9 produced by Comcept and Inti Creates is a game funded from a Kickstarter campaign which went global in 2013. The games stretch goal was reached within two days and by the and of its Kickstarter campaign had reached over 400% of its initial target which enabled then to port the game to many more platforms.
Legendary games produces Keiji Inafune is the lead designer and many consider this to be the spiritual successor to his hugely popular Mega Man series of games.
The gameplay here closely follows the same path as Mega Man. This is a 2D platformer but with a heavy mixture of 2D and 3D art. You are able to steal weapons and abilities off any enemy you kill and use them to your advantage against the games many and varied enemies.
At the end of each stage you must face off against one of the Mighty Number 8 in a boss battle. After defeating a boss you will acquire the ability to shape shift. How this affects the game has yet to be revealed.
Mighty No. 9 is released this year on Xbox One through Microsoft's ID@Xbox label.
