Is Battletoads On It's Way To The Xbox One?

Are Rash, Zitz, and Pimple about to make a next gen comeback? At GDC head of ID@Xbox Chris Charla has dropped his the biggest hint yet. During a speech about Windows 10 he revealed the The Battletoads would be making an appearance in the newly announced Xbox One version of Shovel Knight. He then went on to say "I wonder when we'll see them next?". For those of you who have never heard of Battletoads, its one hell of a hard as nails game and one that I could never complete no matter how hard I tried.

Now this is obviously far away from being an official announcement but that's the biggest hint yet that something may be on the horizon for the eponymous toads. Back in 2014 Microsoft filed a trademark for Battletoads, explaining that this was done "as part of its [Microsoft's] business strategy," but had no comment beyond that point.
