I have to be honest, I`m not one for spending loads and loads on Hardware for my Xbox One or 360. You can go out today and go and buy loads of different things that`ll enhance your gaming experience, either in terms of visual display, or Audio sound. But, I haven’t quite seen anything on the market like the product that I`ve had a chance to have a play with the last few weeks, and that`s Prif`s MixSonic 1 amp. What does it do? Well, if you love daisy-chaining and mixing your levels around, you`ll love this piece of hardware.
The MixSonic 1 allows you to customize how you want to hear your game, from a variety of channels and inputs. You have the option to increase the game chat, or perhaps your playing a pretty scary game you want to increase the volume within the game to engage your mind and ears into the sound of what you`re wanting to hear. You have an awful lot of customization and control. Much more control than anything out on the market at the moment.

Setting up the device for you to use isn’t difficult, however you will need to find yourself purchasing some extra-long micro USB cables if you don’t sit close to your consoles when gaming. That`s because the amp requires USB power, and to get that, obviously you need to run into one of your consoles USB ports. I used the amp for the Xbox One, and due to the fact that it also runs on an Optical cable, which you need to plug into the back of the Xbox One where the port is, I used the USB port that was at the back. The concept is good, but just be prepared to buy longer cables if you need to, as the cables supplied are not massively long.
I emphasise the word customization a lot, and that`s because this is something that Prif have allowed you to have complete control over with this. You`re able to have different audio sources being inputted into the amp and relaying through the 3.5mm cable that you`ve connected your headset through, all in one. I found myself playing music from my PC at a small volume, feeding that through the amp, and having a party chat and the game playing in the background too. Something that Microsoft have yet to include with their background music for Xbox One, the MixSonic is something that will truly let you play around and have complete control over.
Prif have truly designed some piece of hardware. The amount of customization over volumes and Audio throughout they give you is truly phenomenal. At the price of £31, it`s something you can`t go wrong over. If you`re someone who`s truly wanting to mix things up in terms of having an audio Phenom, then this really is worth the price. Just be prepared to buy some extra and longer USB cables if you`re someone who sits far away from the console when gaming.
A huge thank you to Prif Accessories for giving us the MixSonic amp to review.
