SEASON 38 PREVIEW
Fifa 23 has arrived and it's time for another Fifa Season , we have lost the controversial DearestStorm and S8ty from Division 3 following their deserved promotions and we welcome Raz & Wintz to play with us for the following few months. We have a new version of Fifa which makes predictions very difficult, but I have had a go and I welcome your feedback.
1st Amen Raz
Relegated last season and weekly rages during the F1 make Raz a dangerous proposition this season, he will be motivated to get back straight into the limelight of Division 2. The Berisha brothers have been joined by Enock Mwepu this season at least for a week or two and whilst he has not been seen regularly on the head-to-head scene, he has been ruthless.
2nd CurlyWurky
Or Trooper as he is better known, had a great end to the season last year reaching the play off final only to lose in extra time to Diodex. He is another one that plays a very tight but effective game and I fancy him to gain some early season consistency this time around which will propel him close to the title. He supports dirty Leeds and is as Yorkshire as they come … but may need to strengthen his side to get back into Division 2, I think he will do it, JUST!
3rd Niwintz
Another man relegated last season Wintz will look forward being back in division 3 and fancy his chances of a high finish. When he was last in this division, he scored plenty of goals with his attacking play and I expect Kolo Muani to be high up in the scoring charts. It might take a couple of weeks to get used to the new Fifa, but class is permanent.
4th Red Rhinoceros
Only a 92nd minute equaliser by bottom placed Gazgrass on the final day of the season prevented me from direct promotion into League 2 and it’s been a long summer dwelling on what might have been. I have a much-changed team this season, with Daka back in attack and young prospect Simons at CAM I am hoping I have enough consistency to again finish in the top 4.
5th Tunners
The lad is playing very well pre-season with Malen scoring plenty of goals, but he has a propensity to fall down when it matters in league games. This was evident last season, and he needs to carry his friendly form into league games if he is going to repeat his act of a few seasons ago and get promoted. I predict the play offs for this man unlike his beloved Hull City who are going down to League 1.
6th Lostboy (ysb)
This fella has been absent most of pre-season so it’s quite difficult to predict his capability on the new Fifa, he is fast becoming a Clubs legend however after scoring a first half hattrick in the event the other night. He plays a very tight game and is always there or thereabouts at the end of the season. He is likely to finish higher in our table than his beloved Liverpool in the Premier League but that isn’t saying much.
7th Payne Wales
Payne took a hard-hit pre-season when the cut was announced making him unable to use his 250 million to strengthen his squad. He still has decent players in his team though with Camavinga, Kudus and Callum Wilson turning out for him. Payne is the opposite of some, playing better when it counts after struggling in friendlies and he will need to get some early points on the board to ensure he stays near mid table.
8th Wizzfox
Foxy is an enigma for me, he is incredibly difficult to beat in friendlies but when you see his league results, he can lose to just about anyone. He has played 173 games against S8ty pre-season and done ok but needs to beat the players below him in the table consistently if he wants to climb towards promotion. Leicester fan Wizzfox has a real young superstar in Charles De Ketelaere in attack and he will need to score a hatful this season.
9th SoggyCabbages
Soggy is, as usual … the unknown. He has not played a single friendly game yet on the new Fifa and rarely gets involved in the transfer market. He will gradually work things out and climb the table, but he might struggle early on. Everyone seems to be using 7 at the back Soggy tactics so maybe he needs to revolutionise his thinking and go 7 upfront to counter it, there is no doubt that he is good enough.
10th AndyBrill
Andy improved last season and had 6 wins which was great for us all to see, the new Fifa has dropped, and Andy has continued where he left off with some impressive friendly wins. By improving his players at both ends of the pitch – Dean Henderson in goal and former Watford man Cucho Hernandez up front – he has given himself a great chance of moving up to mid table.
11th Harry (ysb)
Young Harry hit 30 recently so I guess we cannot call him that any longer, he’s inconsistent at Fifa and you never know what you are going to get from him. He can finish for sure and if he can keep the ball out of the net at the other end, he might prove me wrong and climb towards mid table. He signed a nice young prospect on the wing called Motondo but his squad lacks quality and that might be his undoing this season.
12th EmotionalWorm (ysb)
Our 4th man from Northern Ireland, Worm is very difficult to predict. He can go on an amazing run of victories but then collapse and drop down the league. The second half of last season wasn’t kind to him, and he needs to play the game more if he wants to climb the table. Needs to strengthen his team to back up the prolific Brereton Diaz.
13th Gazgrass
Oh Gaz, everyone’s favourite Northern Irishman struggled last season and his pre-season form unfortunately doesn’t offer a great deal of promise for the coming season, He has brought in a solid goalkeeper in Steffen to compliment a top striker in Burkardt but maybe needs to add one or two top players to compete at this level … or any level.
