The AG Tour returned for its 6th season last week. 18 players teed it up at TPC Scottsdale for the first handicapped event of the season and what a close run thing it was.
After the first round Burga boii who shot a personal best gross 58 had the lead but collapsed under the pressure in the more difficult scoring round 2 and shot a disappointing gross 70. Red Rhinoceros also broke 60 in his first round with a gross 59 and when the handicaps were taken into account he ended up joint winner with RFC Buncey who had a pair of gross 66's. It was tremendous to see so many players tee it up for the first event and with a mere 2 shots separating the top 6 players it looks like we will have a very exciting season. Special mentions go to Emotionalworm and Harryn9000 who got themselves into contention and finished joint 4th. Here is the full Week 1 final leaderboard:
On to the TGC Tour where there were some interesting scores. For the second week in a row Berty44 was the top performer in TGC-Pro with -38 thanks to a final round 57. He is now back to zero strikes along with Joe and Burga boii . Notable here that Burga boii got a hole in one on the 9th in round 2 but spoiled it with a triple bogey 4 holes later. Red Rhinoceros managed a 82nd place finish to wipe one of his strikes. Similar story for wellsa27 who continued his fine recent form to finish 69th and also wipe a strike and both now have lads have one.
On TGC-Am BobBank had a disappointing start to his career on CC-E and incurred a strike. Worse news still for paullowes80 whose DNF cost him 2 strikes and new he has 3. Looks like he just entered the competition but never finished even one hole. Wizzfox just about saved himself his score of -14 was only one shot clear of him getting another demotion mark. He remains with 4 and on the precipice of falling into CC-F. On CC-F Goldenbeard continued his steady form. Performance of the week goes to IDanger IMouse who finished 21st on CC-Z, the highest ever finish by an AGer on tour. Here is a summary of last weeks performances and the World Rankings:
