Fantasy Challenge Cup Wrap Up

It's over for yet another season, with the best of the best vying to be the top dog in AG's premier competition. This seasons Challenge Cup has had its twists and turns, with some unexpected results and fiercely contested matches proving the quality in the AG ranks. The final stage comprised of 2 groups of individuals hellbent on being the ultimate winner of each bracket respectively. Without further hesitation, lets dive into the results.

We shall start with the elite tier of the competition, being group one. This group comprised of the men who fought their way through previous stages at the top of their respective groups, so the competition was expected to be fierce. Topping the group, we have AG's Mr Reliable, aaronc333. An accustomed site for the United fan, he is back on his perch looking down over his subjects with great satisfaction with his seasons work. He dropped just 3 points and wins by 6 comfortable points, having scored 14 and conceded 9. His best results came against Caws in a 4-2 drubbing, showing he could outscore anyone on any given day. Congratulations to him.

Second place goes to another United fan, in the form of CookieMUFC. A decent showing sees him claim second via goal difference in a closely fought battle, collecting 9 points along the way. His +1 goal difference proves to be the ultimate difference in this group, having seemingly lost second place going into the last matches. His best result came in the form of a 3-1 victory over eventual winner aaron, a surprise result that saved him from 3rd place. Well done Cookie.

Third place went to another reliable member of AG, in the form of Subz87. Unlucky here for the ever popular man, he also achieves 9 points out of a possible 18 available. He scored 7 goals and also conceded 7, one more goal could've proved the difference in where he finished in the table. Subz hammered Caws 3-1 in one of their games, but a 1-0 loss to Cookie explains how Cookie snuck in the back door to take 2nd. Well played to Subz, congratulations.

Last, and very much least, is our raving Welshman, the badger loving caws 09. Very poor from Caws here who himself has admitted he was out gunned and out matched with the quality in this group. A solitary win against Cookie sees him pick up his only three points in the group, in a 3-1 victory. The lack of points was not for the want of trying, however as he still scored 8 goals. His Achilles heel came in his defence however, as he conceded 15.

On to group two now, and it was as fiercely contested as the first. Topping the group after the final whistles was the Newport slag, NPT x Rocheyy. No doubt his role as a sports coach played a pivotal part in his success, as he racks up 11 points from 18. He scored 12 goals and conceded 9, showing his form at the top of the group. His bets result came against Niwintz, gaining a 2-0 win in the clash between Liverpool fans. Congratulations to Roch.

Second place goes to one of AG's premier fifa players, TheAshCohen09. Good stuff from Mr Cohen here, who takes second place in an extremely tough group. Ash's 3-2 win in a thriller with Niwintz shows he had the determination to come through the toughest of games. He scored 9 but conceded 10, showing why he didn't gather further points. Congratulations on another great outing, Ash.

Third place goes to niwintz, who loses out on second by a solitary point. Not his best outing but still a respectable tally of 7 points out of 18. He also scored 9 and conceded 10 this campaign, showing there is plenty of potential to work with in the next fantasy league season. His best result came in the form of a 2-0 win over Ash, proving he had the capability of doing much better than he eventually did. Good work, wintz.

Last place in this group goes to the maaaan from London Taaaawn, TheWayneyG. Not his best outing either, but he finished just two points off of second place, showing just how competitive this group truly was. He scored 8 and conceded 9, the same principal applying to him as with Ash and Wintz respectively. Wayne's best result came in a victory over eventual winner Roch, in a 2-1 triumph. We're sure Wayne will be back on his feet in no time.

A quick look at the supplementary cup now, and congratulations go out to our graphics designer @MarkPatterson. He takes the win over Cheesey Crease in a thrilling finale to the tournament. Mark beat Big B 1970 and iBuD LjuNgKull to earn his spot in the final, overcoming the odds to take the trophy. Cheesey's route to the final passed through stevie71bhaving had a bye in the first round of the cup. Congratulations to Mark on his achievement.

A huge thank you to all involved in the gaming and organisation of the Fantasy League this season, it was one that will go down in the books for sure. Thank you to you all for reading, and to MarcusJonesy for giving us the platform to play it on.

Caws, out.
