We`re live from Drogheda Media Centre where we are talking to Manager Ash Cohen after his sides games against Media Favourite Roobiash . Drogheda Have taken 3 points against Roob after his side lost 2-0 and Won 2-1 in 2 games.
Ash, what are your thoughts on the game?
I think we`re very unlucky to lose the first. We should of been 3-0 up by Half term. We were not clinical enough and we were punished for it. Big time. I said at the start of the season we needed to have the right balance between attack and defence. We were good on the defence throughout I thought, but we were not clinical enough. We had a few moments where we let our heads slip at the back for their goals, but on a overall performance, I thought we done okay.
What did you make of Roobiash`s performance?
He`s a good player, and he`ll certainly be up there at the end of the season in the title race. He has the potential to really cause problems to the opponents and rip them to shreds. I think that him and a few others will be right up there.
How many horses do you think there will be in the title race?
I think there will be 3 Big Horses with perhaps 1 or 2 little horses. You can have a look at the league and who is in the league and have a little guess who will challenge for the title.
@MarkPaterson is the next game that awaits you, do you know much about his style of play, and how likely a threat he is to you?
Look, every game is a potential threat. We cannot take any game easily, as that`s when you lose a game. We have to take every game as if it is a cup final, and to play the way we like to play and know how we can play. I`m looking forward to our games, and seeing his team play. I`ve heard things, but now we can see for ourselves.
Transfer wise, There is some speculation into Eric Bailly`s future here at the club, what news can you shed on that?
None. He wont be going anywhere. We`ve had some interest from some players, but he`s not for sale. He`s a very good player at this level and he`ll be a vital part of our team and our push for the title. I hope that people heed that as a warning that he`s not for sale, and any approach will be instantly rejected. We will let people know when we want to sell a player.
What about Rodrigo Ely? There`s been a lot of talk into him leaving and he is subjected to a £3,000,000 bid from a un-named club, what can you say on that?
There isnt much more to say than that. We`ve had a bid for him that was turned down because it didnt meet our valuation of him. If they come back with what we`ve asked then we shall do a deal, but at the moment, there is no agreement.
There is some talk in Spain tonight that you`ve made a approach to Barnet manager Harry Nicholson over the potential signing of Eric Dier. Is there any truth to that?
No, we are not interested in him. Besides, I think there are some who will pay way over the top to get him, because he`s a favourite to some. We wont pay silly money like some will, and we try to be realistic.
One more Question, Do you think your team can make a challenge for the league this season?
Of course, Yes. We have the mentality, we have the squad and the will to do it. As I have said all along, we need to have the right balance between the defence and the attack, aswell as be clinical and also have a little bit of luck on our side, as you need a little bit of luck to win trophies, aswell as being balanced and clinical. If we can do these three things, then it is possible.
