After an "Alright" start to the season Gold Coast sat in 5th place, just above mid table. The supporters and management were concerned though about the lack of goals in the team. Our top scorer was Bradley Wright Phillips on 3 goals, something needed to be done to help add to our attacking options.
Various offers were made to other managers but no-one was forthcoming with any deals, Auction nights always seemed to pass us by until tonight's Blind BFA.
Our supporters went into the evening with the normal transfer gloom but what a night it turned out to be. The club was sitting pretty on the money front and decided to go all out for some top attacking players.
We were delighted to add Jonathan Pereira and Gelson Fernandez to our attacking line, both players have tremendous pace and finishing of the highest order. To supplement these two we added Mehdi Gonzalez to our right hand side of the team, another flyer who compliments the midfield.
Finally to shore up the defence Diego Reyes arrived, his reading of the game is second to none and will be a valuable part of the team.
The fans were delighted with these purchases and are now really looking forward to the next set of matches.
