The February Monthly FIFA Tournament had participants playing some of the biggest local derbies in the world. All the games were between two teams from the same city, some well matched, some not so much which produced the odd high scoring game. At least these games gave both players the chance to get a big score as they had to swap teams for the return fixtures.
Because of the format, no-one went winless and no-one went unbeaten, but topping Group 1 with 6 wins and a draw from his 8 games was gingerneo. In second place and qualifying for the knockout stage was SUPAAJ on 13 points, 3 points ahead of TheAshCohen09. YORKSHIREWHI7ES was in 4th, a point ahead of Big B 1970 in his usual position at the foot of the group.
Group 2 couldn't have been closer with the top 3 all finishing on 16 points, so with only the top two going through it came down to goal difference to separate them. oBIGASHo came top with his big goal difference of +18, MandL18 was behind him on +9, which meant with +7, paullowes80 came in third and missed the cut.. Way behind them points wise were deareststorm and OrgasmWord in 4th and 5th respectively.
The teams for the semi-finals were Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, and the games went more or less according to form. @MandL couldnt get to grips with playing as Gala and went out 5-4 on aggregate to gingerneo. The other semi-final went to sudden death after it finished 2-2 on aggregate. oBIGASHo may have had a slight advantage having Fenerbahce in extra time and it was indeed him that got the goal to progress to the final.
The final had two evenly matched teams in Inter and Milan, with the game being broadcast live on twitch for us to enjoy. gingerneo had a bit of a disastrous spell in the first leg, letting in goals within short space of time and not being able to come back, losing 4-1. With a mountain to climb in the 2nd leg for Ginge, oBIGASHo know he just had to control the game without being reckless, and the 2-2 draw was enough to see him 6-3 on aggregate to be crowned champion again.
