Nottingham Forest win an absolute thriller as they take all 6 points vs TheMalien's Lille team.
Nottingham Forest took the lead in Game One when Fernando Torres slips through Peter Crouch and he side foots the ball past the keeper.
Forest then went 2-0 up as John Stones wins the ball in defence, passes the ballto Roberts who threads a through ball to Torres who curls a shot into the bottom corner. The match finished 2-0.
Lille started Game Two on top and took the lead after beating Vermaelen for pace to score. Kalou gets his second of the game when some nice footwork sets up a beautiful stike that hits the bar and goes in, 2-0.
At HT manager Jobi Juan changes formation from 4-1-2-1-2 to 4-3-2-1.
Fernando Torres and Peter Crouch continued their fine form as a partnership as they scored 5 goals between them after beating niwintz Lyon team 5-1 and 2-0.
Fernando Torres is now Forests number one striker after top goal scorer Martinez moved to Arsenal TheAshCohen09 in preseason, but it’s his partnership with Peter Crouch which is starting to turn heads. Crouch scored both goals in the 2-0 return fixture vs Lyon. Patrick Roberts has also been on the scoresheet more than once this season.
Another empty bottle hits the floor. A despondent SoggyCabbages sits in his Sao Paulo penthouse inconsolable after his play-off semi-final loss to Berty44. The season fast approaching and his laptop open on Football Manager. “Need to find the next wonderkids and stars for my Football team.”
And rebuilding is exactly what he did. Follow a busy summer transfer window for SoggyCabbages a revamped squad goes into the season with high hopes.
The first transfer was a swap deal with Jlizzle4shizzle, with relatively new arrival Kasey Palmer from last season swiftly departing in return for Gotjko Cimirot. On the same day a 12,000,000 deal for @TheAshCohen90’s Lewis Holtby was announced. A skilful CAM who will be starting further back in CM with the idea of creating attacking opportunies, utilising his 80 short passing. A mere 5 days later Jlizzle4shizzle returned for some more Cabbage. This time wanting to give Kasey Palmer back along with Isiah Brown and 600k in return for first-team starters Andrea Danzi and Konstantinos Galanopoulos. An interesting deal with the aim to improve SoggyCabbages attacking spirit in the centre of midfield. Without any time to unpack Palmer got back on the plane to Brazil only to find out that he’s going to be starting on the bench from now on.
Having taken over at West Ham, Riverman has had a busy first couple of days in the transfer market. His first signing was pacy wide man/striker Menendez. Cerny has also come in to provide competition in forward areas.
Defensively centre backs Roco and Bormuth have arrived whilst young centre back Duverne and left back Dubarbier have departed. There is a change in goal as well with Mvogo departing allowing Cragno to come in as number 1
Riverman had the following to say
"I've worked with Cragno before and made him a target early on, we've upgraded at centre back though lost a good youngster and added some pace upfront which was desperately needed"
When asked if the side were ready for the season and if all deals were done he said "as things stand I think we are set, never say never but I think this will be the squad that starts the season tomorrow"
It may well be the squad that starts the season but you can guarantee it won't be the squad that ends the seasons as more arrivals and departures are highly likely
Week one of the season started out with a double header against SoggyCabbages, a manager who has a reputation for playing defensively. With it being my first games in the league I wanted to get off to a flyer and 6 points. Form wise I had beaten him 3-0 in an event a week or so ago so was confident I’d be able to break him down
The first game looked pretty even on the stats, a 54/46 split in possession and just 12 shots in total, but I managed to convert my chances better. After 20 mins of feeling each other out Liverpool opened the scoring as Merino played Ross Barkley through and he finished nicely into the bottom corner, to score on his competitive debut for the club. Kraft made a couple of decent saves after that and we had to wait until the 57th minute when Barkley was brought down in the area, and stepped up to the spot to make it 2-0. Things opened up a bit then as Soggy tried to get back in to it, and Pavon quickly made it 3-0 as he turned the defender and finished low into the corner. Barkley had a chance to get his hat trick but blazed it over the bar, and the last action of the game was Merino making it four as he nicked the ball off the defenders foot and coolly finished past the keeper
Nottingham Forest's hopes for survival from the Absolute Gaming Fantasy League Premier Division were finally decided last week as they lost 4-2 to Dx I Jaminator LA Galaxy in the relegation playoff final.
After being 2-0 down, Forest managed to come back and get the game even at 2-2. But the season had been a long one and the Notts Forest defenders legs seemed tired and gave out before the end of the match and the Reds lost 4-2 at the final whistle. Celebration for the Galaxy fans - heart break for the Forest faithful. We caught up with manager Jobi for a few end of season comments...
"Its been a tough season for us here at the City Ground, we've brought in a few players that we thought we needed and for one reason or another, we just didn't seem to gel. I'll definitely be looking to sign a couple of players in the summer - particularly another CB and there shall be a few exits. I would like to thank all the fans for their continued support and we wish La Galaxy all the very best for next season. As for us, we'll be looking to bounce straight back up to the top division and we are looking forward to playing some new teams and visiting new stadiums. WE WILL BE BACK!!!"
